It is celebrated for 10 days .
Who is the Goddess(Amman)? Goddess is both SHE - feminine energy and IT -the energy of the universe.
She in the sense of having a form , alive, real and a being who can interact with the physical world. This is the form that we know from our lives and we think of when we pray. But the It in the sense of consciousness or the energy that makes the universe and everything in it go.
Goddess in Sanskrit means Chit or Shakti. From Chit which is Super-Normal Consciousness or Super-consciousness comes Chitta which means the human mind.
She knows everything, be at everywhere , anywhere and at anytime.
She resides within us . She gives us miraculous power. Only through the Super Conscious Mind can you bypass your negative mind and Ambal is the energy that opens that part of our mind.
